In celebration of Use Your Illusion being re-released today! Which version of Don't Cry do you like better? Before the albums came out there was a bootleg rehearsal tape doing the rounds, must have been 1990, it had Don't Cry on it with the so-called 'alternative lyrics' and to this day, whenever I hear the version on volume 1 it feels wrong Also, did you buy both albums on the same day when it came out or like me did you have to wait the following month for the other one? I bought the tape of Use Your Illusion 2 in W H Smiths on release day and part 1 the next month after i saved up my pocket money (I was 14)

I know i didn't buy Springsteen's Human Touch and Lucky Town albums at the same time the following year when they were released on the same day in March. Took me a while to get Lucky Town. As for Don't Cry? I don't actually like it that much. |

As for Don't Cry, I don't have a preference because, like Demdike, it's not one of my favourite songs from the albums and one I could live without.

You Don't Cry haters can get out of this thread All these years later (31!!!) I still prefer Use Your Illusion 2 but 1 had loads of great songs on it too!! The 'Super Deluxe' version is streaming today, it's nearly 8 hrs of music, the 2 albums and 2 full live shows

Alice In Chains - Sea Of Sorrow Facelift (1990) The first time i heard this song was on a free compilation tape called Operation Rock N' Roll i was given in Tower Records on Sunset Boulevard (Name and place dropping twat!). Other artists on the tape were Motorhead, Judas Priest, Alice Cooper, Mindfunk, Suicidal Tendencies, Metal Church, Europe, Cycle Sluts from Hell and loads more. I played it to death and then sold it for a small fortune a few years later. |
