Impera (2022)

'Mr. Ghost' must have some balls seemingly copying two of the 80's most classic songs for parts of this track.

As you know I’m not the biggest fan of that album but I did like that song a lot, good way to end the album.

Album of the year for me, narrowly beating Kreator.

Default Metallica - The Unforgiven

Forget Lux Aeterna, have some of The Unforgiven. Probably one of my favourite songs that Metallica has ever recorded, love the intro instrumentation, i'd like to say homage to Ennio but it's pretty an emulation, you can practically see Clint on the screen in your imagination while listening to it.

Have you got the remastered version of Metallica's Black album. Justin?

Does it actually bring anything to the table that wasn't there before.

I mean, it's not like Bob Rock wasn't the best rock producer after Mutt Lange at the time.

I haven’t bought it yet no, it’s probably just a bit louder as per modern production. 90s CDs are a lot quieter, but you just turn them up it’s fine.

The Black Album was the first CD I ever bought, up until that point it had been tapes and 2nd hand LPs. I had to replace it a few years ago due to the dreaded disc rot.

Ouch. Despite what the so called purists say, it probably is Metallica's masterpiece.

You can see with the albums Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, ...And Justice for All and The Black Album why they became one of the biggest rock bands in the world. Releasing four albums of such quality one after the other is beyond virtually anyone else.

Master of Puppets is my favourite Metallica album and the one I still consider their best – the title track, Welcome Home (Sanitarium), and Battery are timeless classics, and Orion is a beautifully crafted instrumental piece.

I'd put their self-titled follow-up in second place – it's a brilliant album and I keep meaning to buy the remastered CD release.

All four of those albums can be argued to be their best.

For Whom the Bell Tolls is my favourite Metallica song and that's from Ride the Lightning.

One is probably my second fave and that's from ...And Justice For All.

It's the consistency of The Black Album that possibly makes it so good.

Default Jeff Buckley - Grace

A beautiful song, I listened to this album exclusively for months about 10 years ago...
