Can anyone recommend any desert rock albums that have been released in the past decade or so?

Not QOTSA mind you.

I used to have decent knowledge of the scene fifteen years ago but it's passed me by in recent times.

I can't think of anything, so I'm probably as out of the loop as you!

Eagles of Death Metal are apparently (according to last fm) a 'super match' to Dessert sessions, they do feature Josh Homme but it's not QOTSA so it still meets your criteria

I just remembered i never picked up the Vista Chino album from a couple of years ago, so i'll remedy that.

Vista Chino is Kyuss but they aren't able to use the name anymore.

I haven't bought that either, but it is also my wish list.

When i said no QOTSA i should have said no Josh Homme. He's strayed too far out of the Palm Desert scene nowadays.

Although i have to admit i'm not aware of the Dessert Sessions.

Taste good do they?

I don't know sorry I just did a 'if you like Desert sessions try...' google search and that's what it came up with. This is the sort of things that Google Play Music and Spotify are perfect for.
