Upcoming new film "'Long Live Rock… Celebrate the Chaos' is a deep dive into the culture of hard rock music. This genre, beloved by its millions of fans, is often misunderstood and maligned by media and the music industry. In intimate interviews, the leading titans of rock discuss the genre and the special relationship they have with their audience. Featuring members of Metallica, Guns N ’Roses, Slipknot, Korn, Avenged Sevenfold, Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch, Rage Against the Machine, Greta Van Fleet, Halestorm, and many, many more. "

Spoke too early! "Due to the uncertainties of international touring logistics, health, and safety issues" Mercyful Fate are not appearing at the festival. Instead, they have been replaced by...Kreator!

I hope that wasn't supposed to be disparaging to Kreator as they are an immense live band and perfect for such a headline slot. |

To my mind, Mercyful Fate and Kreator are like chalk and cheese - one is a standard, traditional rock band and the other is a balls-to-the-wall, extreme metal band Kreator will go down well at Bloodstock

"War Within Me was recorded during 2020 with work split between Blaze’s studio at home in the West Midlands and Christopher Appleton’s studio in Greater Manchester. The now very consistent line-up, chosen from British metal band Absolva, played on the album - Christopher Appleton (guitar, backing vocals), Martin McNee (drums), Karl Schramm (bass). Blaze and Appleton shared the work mixing and producing, whilst Ade Emsley (Iron Maiden, Tank, British Lion, Voodoo Six) handled the mastering."

I've found i've always liked what Blaze has done since leaving Maiden. Aside from Silicon Messiah (which i now don't have) i've never bought any of his stuff. I'm still the one Maiden fan with the controversial opinion that Virtual XI is better than any Maiden album since apart from the brilliant Brave New World. |

Today is the 10th anniversary of one of my favourite albums Within Temptation - The Unforgiving.
