In one of the more bizarre band splits The Quireboys have ditched Spike.

To me Spike is The Quireboys, the rest are irrelevant. It'd be like Twisted Sister sacking Dee Snider or Motorhead getting rid of Lemmy.

Music venue cancels Quireboys concert following Spike's departure / Planet Rock

"The Quireboys were due to play The Tivoli on Saturday 10th September as part of their A Bit of What You Fancy 30th anniversary tour, however the venue wrote on Facebook that the show has now been axed as 90% of ticketholders have requested a refund."

I don't really listen to Thornography all that much because I think the songs are too slow paced for CoF, but there are still a few cracking good ones on there like this one, I Am The Thorn.

It works quite well for cradle with the dual vocal style. It’s still wild that a pop song like that got to #1 in the charts and stayed there for weeks!
