They had a pretty decent folllowing - they did a few festivals etc. and picked up a few more fans when they changed their sound/went more mainstream during the mid/late '90s. I remember a time when MTV2 used to play Dead Battery and Hidden Agenda almost repeatedly.

I was in the crowd when they played Reading in '99:

I do like both the eras although "Desensitized" remains my fave album of theirs.

Yeah they were all over metal press at the time,Kerrang etc they seemed to be destined for greatness but never happened, same with Sheep On Drugs, although they were never gonna be big they did cause bit of stir at the time.

Yeah, I'm not sure what happened really after they released Deviant... there were rumours of fallings out within the band and the record label. They eventually released PSI (with a different label I think) which was pretty mediocre and then they just seemed to disappear.

Speaking of Bristol, a band from the the South-West who I first saw in Bristol before they made it 'big' (well, biggish) was Sunna. Their debut album was really very good and I remember hearing Power Struggle over and over around the same time as the Pitchshifter tunes on MTV2 too... then nothing. Must be some kind of MTV2 curse at the time or something. MTDS may be able to give us more details.

Yeah, I used to listen to them quite a bit too - I can remember playing this on repeat when I first got it!

Yes thats the one, very good live band, but the whole rap/metal scene went into meltdown with the likes of Korn and Limp Biscuit,I mean Fred Dirst pretty killed that scene.

Yeah Fred Durst just turned it into a big (unintentional) joke and pretty much killed it. I wasn't a massive Korn fan but did like some of their earlier stuff (Life is Peachy etc.) but lost all interest in them pretty much after that.

Skinlab, Snot and Stuck Mojo were alright though.
