I went to see Hans Zimmer again last night well it was for my girlfriend as i was not overly keen after the last time. Let me start by saying i find it amazing that so many people are one a stage and every single person is on the same page and the performance is 100% flawless it really is amazing. The first half of the show is not my cup of tea The Lion King Da Vinci Code Angels and Demons films i have never seen but didnt do much for me. The second half of the show is fantastic Dark Knight Trilogy , Man of Steel , Interstellar and Inception especially Time a truly beautiful breathtaking piece of music. I can't fault the performance as it was flawless like i said but my problem is this is the second time in a year that Hans Zimmer has come to Dublin and played the exact same show every song in the same order which is disappointing i know putting a show like this together take a lot of work but it was the inbetween the songs that was what got on my tits. Everything he said was word for word the same as last year and i mean word for word. Yes he is putting on a performance but if you insist on speaking to the audience i would rather the performer came across more genuine and not just going through the motions if you ask me personally i rather no crowd interaction because nothing annoys me for that hearing the same bullshit of how much a band or artist lies to you about how amazing your city is and that your their favourite crowd ever. Give me a down and dirty metal or punk band in a small club any day its honest and it's genuine and that all i want from my music. Last night felt too fake and lazy and really took away from the performance may sound like an asshole thing to say but hey i have been called worse

Blondie are playing at Manchester Apollo on 11th November, tickets on sale tomorrow. They're £50... why have gigs gotten to be so expensive. Maiden was £60 but the staging and sets were epic, they have to pay for that somehow. I know for a fact that Blondie is going to be just 5 people on a stage, I think they have a video wall behind them - minimal staging... This kind of thing puts me off going to shows now, Alice Cooper was only £40 and we all know the effort that goes into his shows.

You always know the likes of Maiden, Rammstein, Alice, Manson, Zombie and especially Kiss (Despite Gene being such a money maker they spend a hell of a lot on the show) will always put on a great evenings entertainment for you. Debbie Harry was i think the worst gig i've ever seen. It was like she didn't want to be there. Played obscure stuff and none of her hits, anything from Blondie was out of the question as well. By the half way stage the entire Manchester Apollo was booing her between songs. One of the most memorable gigs i went to was Nickleback, yes Nickleback. Their pyro displays during each song were absolutely fantastic. |

They're playing the Barclaycard Arena in Birmingham on 13th November, and tickets are noted as being £57:40 and £68:70 (but this includes a 'booking fee) The most annoying place I know of, is the Theatre Royal in Nottingham, who have the audacity to add "£2 for online bookings or £3 for phone & counter" I don't understand why I have to pay an extra £3:00 for walking to the venue, purchasing at point of sale and then leaving. It's not like they have to waste their time answering the phone (*cough partofthejob) or accessing the internet (*cough partofthejob) or even going to the post office to buy an envelope and a stamp!

I'm a systems administrator for a theatre box office so I know what I'm talking about, unfortunately... Their tactic, which is actually frowned upon is to direct people to purchase online. We currently sell 40-45% of our tickets online which believe it or not is actually a high percentage in the industry!

Paid about £35 to see George Clinton in Liverpool. Excluding what it cost to get there etc. They played for about 2 & half hours. This included Maggot Brain btw, an instrumental that I personally thought I would never hear live. So for me it was worth it. I've seen bands play for 25 minutes ... which was also "worth it" Perhaps tis the downloading that is somewhat to blame? Just a thought .... I too still prefer to see acts in smallish places Duke. Though Janes at the Manchester Apollo was great ... a lovely old theatre ... recommend there for sure. One last thing ... I've paid quite a lot overall to see The Fall through the years and I can honestly say it was all an experience "worth" seeing. But then I am quite zealous ... so unless there is a cancellation (last time due to "international terrorism") even nearly getting run over near the bleeding venue door in Bournemouth was "worth it". Reading this back it looks like Judith Chalmers does Download
