I bought the Dire Straits box set today at Sainsbury's for £15.

The only songs by them i'd ever heard until last week were Money for Nothing, Walk of Life and Sultans of Swing but i listened to a few choice cuts and really liked Mark Knopfler's guitar sound so decided it was well worth a shot.

I actually just posted it in the What Have You Bought thread along with a couple of other things.

Mark Knopfler is not a bad guitarist, but the live versions of the songs are very extended with lots of twiddly guitar bits, and I find them tedious to the extreme

I actually don't mind the shorter studio-based songs
