One of my favourites, Señor Coconut does Kraftwerk's Homecomputer. There is a whole album of Kraftwerk covers by Señor, and they are all fantastic!

I listened to The Chain yesterday, while it's a nice enough cover and Amy's voice is lovely, it lacks the punch of the original version. You just can't beat John McVie's classic bassline.

I'd sum it up something like this. If it were a brand new Evanescence song i'd think it was really good. As Justin says, Amy sings it really nicely and the music is quite haunting. But, and here's the problem. It's a cover of one of the 'classic' songs and in comparison, well it just doesn't. In a way for me The Chain is one of those songs that shouldn't be altered by 'inferior' bands. It reminds me of White Lion and their cover of Golden Earring's Radar Love. They played it straight, didn't alter the arrangements at all and for me it worked better as a cover than the Evanescence song does. Anyway i'll stop typing bollocks as i'm rocking out to this. |

Orkestra Obsolete play Blue Monday using 1930s instruments "New Order's Blue Monday was released on 7 March 1983, and its cutting-edge electronic groove changed pop music forever. But what would it have sounded like if it had been made 50 years earlier? In a special film, using only instruments available in the 1930s - from the theremin and musical saw to the harmonium and prepared piano - the mysterious Orkestra Obsolete present this classic track as you've never heard it before." Instruments used: Diddley bow, Hammered dulcimer, Harmonium, Zither, Musical saw, Singing glasses, Theremin, Prepared piano, Slit drum, Dulcitone, small drum kit, double bass and banjo-uke https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/art...on-blue-monday
