Of recent songs, Ed Sheeran's "The A Team" is absolutely bloody dreadful and inept. And it has started cropping up at almost every acoustic open mic I do/host. Depressing.
I agree with Sweet Child O ' Mine, But Stairway was one of the first songs I ever attempted to play on my guitar. Perhaps I was the Rofl Harris version you heard.

There's an incredible live version of Stairway to Heaven on Zep's How the West Was Won album, much more soulful than the studio cut...

Here's one, heard it this morning and it's gonna bug me for the rest of the day - Goo Goo Dolls and Iris from City of Angels soundtrack. Terrible song, terrible name for a band... and speaking of soundtracks, Stuck In the Middle With You is now played to death so much so that whatever novelty that song had is long gone...

Don't worry about it, I wanted either U2 Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For or Iron Maiden's Bring Your Daughter...To The Slaughter, strangely enough she didn't go for either suggestion ...

Only good thing about this song is the infamous movie scene it was used in, makes me think of Michael Madsen dancing with straight razor in hand every time I hear it
