From Facebook (something a few members will be happy about, I'm sure)

"Call us crazy but we're going to start releasing DVD's again alongside our blu-rays again as we get frequent requests to do so. So low and behold here is the start of our Cult Cinema Collection, these are available to preorder on amazon now!"

Amusingly i looked at the pic and didn't read the text and the first thing that came into my head was 'Wonder why 88 call their blu's dvd's?'

Then reading the post it all became clear.

Love the cover designs as well.

Call me an idiot but i think they look far sexier than their blu releases of the same films and will look feckin' spectacular on my shelf.

I think they look pretty good too, probably pick them up in sales or when they're cheap (and never watch them ha ha)

I wonder if they'll do the same for the Slashers too

I've just looked on Amazon and noticed a film called Survival Instinct with no cover art.

Is that a slasher, Italian, or something else entirely?

I think it's just a standard 88 Films release.
Never heard of the film, but I did find it on IMDb and think it sounds pretty good.

I'll probably do exactly the same, buying for the cool cover art and wondering where the hell I'm going to put them!

I wish 88 would finish the Grindhouse Classics range – it seems to have been abandoned leaving the spine builder unfinished.

I've pre-ordered Nail Gun Massacre and Blastfighter for starters.

It makes sense to release a lot of these titles on DVD as they haven't received an uncut decent quality release before in the UK (and some worldwide), plus most DVD collectors would be put off from paying Blu prices... not that 88's blus are expensive though!

It appears to be just a 'cult' brand whereby they're cherry-picking titles from both ranges (Blastfighter is Italian, Nail Gun Massacre is slasher etc.)
