Judging by the minute or so I saw before flicking back to the menu, it's a rough cut which doesn't have the same AV clarity as the one which was edited from that (slightly) longer version and released theatrically.

It'll be interesting to watch the two back to back and see what differences there are.

I have the midnight legacy release of Alien 2. If they use that transfer it looks stunning. The films total shit but I really like it.

Will still probably pick it up though.

I might not get it due to already owing the US release (RIP Midnight Legacy), but Alien 2 is a genuinely beautiful film at times during its mostly boring first hour, and the climax is pretty crazy.

And in light of this announcement, I'm thinking #21 on their schedule might just be Bruno Mattei's Shocking Dark.

(Plus hopefully #18 is Hands of Steel.)

Looks like an alternate television edit to me (with a few deleted sequences reinserted to pad out the runtime).
