Great news about Perfume, I'm lukewarm on Short Night tho, saw it ages and ages ago on VHS (if I recall it was in Italian w/o subs) so I'll wait to see what the consensus is on here... Think I found it a bit long winded TBH.

I hope the Perfume Disc is different to the Raro one, the reviews have been awful for it, I'm not sure if it's to do with the master itself or of the over-zealous compression, the film only takes up 15GB of the disc which is low for a BD.

Interested in both Italian films though as long as the reviews are good when they come out

The master has scanner noise, and 88 Films use masters with scanner noise.

I can get past scanner noise, a LOT of Euro films and some American studio films have noise in the scan but compression and banding and crushed blacks just ruin a film and you may as well just look at it on youtube instead

Looks like Beyond the Darkness will be another one. It was released in Italy last November or December. Customers on Amazon.it are reporting it looks awful, no better than a DVD. The transfer must have been done by Eurolab so the chances are awfully high 88 Films have licensed the same master for their release. I truly hope Severin will use a new transfer instead of that.

There is hope that 88 films may use severin transfer for buio omega
88 films release of burial ground and zombie holocaust are great transfers
