Starring Marc Dacascos (CRYING FREEMAN, JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 3 – PARABELLUM) and Kadeem Hardison (I’M GONNA GIT YOU SUCKA, VAMPIRE IN BROOKLYN) This fast and furious action flick combines the superhero film with the cop buddy movie in a high-octane chase feature populated with explosive Shaw Brothers style martial arts set pieces in a bombastically entertaining slice of nineties fun.

When special agent Toby Wong (Dacascos)is fitted with an advanced bio device giving him superhuman powers he fears that he and the new technology will be exploited for ill gain when the Chinese government takes back control of Hong Kong. Fleeing to San Francisco he plans to sell the device to a company in Los Angeles but when he teams up with down on his luck singer Malik (Hardison) he finds himself being pursued by ruthless assassin Madison and his band of mercenaries.

Like a sort of mash-up of ROBOCOP, IRON MAN and LETHAL WEAPON with added Kung Fu, this unashamed hybrid genre piece will keep you hooked with its thrill a minute pace and fabulous science fiction premise.

Director Alan Birkinshaw brings us an ‘endless night of terror’ in his bloody late seventies horror Killer’s Moon. When a school outing of teenage girls arrives at their destination in the Lake District, they find themselves subjected to the murderous designs of four escaped mental patients who believe they are trapped in a dream.

Released the same year as Carpenter’s Halloween (1978), and very much in the vein of movies by Pete Walker and Norman J Warren, Killer’s Moon delivers a very British take on the burgeoning slasher phenomenon providing a hallucinogenic violent trip into a countryside hell. Often descried as one of the most tasteless UK features ever made, it drips with 80s style gore and a twisted form of home grown folk-horror.

Although he had previously featured in BREAKER, BREAKER, GOOD GUYS WEAR BLACK is generally considered the breakthrough movie of legendary screen fight man Chuck Norris. Not only did it kick start his career, it also showed the world that America could produce a home-grown run of martial arts movies in the wake of successful Hong Kong imports from studios like the mighty Shaw Brothers.

When an elite military outfit known as the Black Tigers is sent into a Vietnam death trap, only Major T Booker (Norris) and four other men stay alive. Five years later and back in America, Booker learns of a plot to kill all remaining members of the botched rescue mission and finds himself plunged into a dangerous game of survival.

Fast, furious and rammed with Norris’s custom brand of physical action skills, this beautifully rendered reissue of GOOD GUYS WEAR BLACK is a glorious introduction to the actor’s work and a must for all collectors.

I think I'll pass on Killer's Moon as I have the Redemption Blu-ray release with the commentary by Alan Birkinshaw and Joanne Good and the interviews with each of them, probably the same interviews as on the 88 Films release.

In my opinion, it has better artwork as well!

It does, yes.

I bought the Screenbound release in the recent sale and although it has no extras other than trailers the fact it only cost £3 means it was good value for money.

It's got the old VHS art on the reverse.
