Fairly sure there will be more to come.

They are genuinely limited quantities. 200 and 300 isn't it.

That's right, I think they said the majority of them are 500 pieces but some only have 200-300 each.

I'm considering that Lynda La Plante crime series with Timothy Dalton and Penelope Cruz.

The good thing is they really aren't expensive at all. Quite a few are only a fiver delivered.

I already have Adventurer and really enjoyed it.

'Konga' (1961) - Blu-ray pre-order available from Network direct - £11:50

Release date: August 29

"Michael Gough turns in a memorable performance as a demented professor in this cult favourite B-movie that takes a skewed look at the King Kong story, transposing the action from New York to London. Also starring teen heartthrob Jess Conrad, Konga is featured here as a High Definition remaster from original film elements in its original theatrical aspect ratio.

The sole survivor of an African plane crash, noted scientist Dr Decker is rescued from the jungle along with a baby chimpanzee: 'Konga'. But Decker's sinister experiments cause Konga to grow to fantastic proportions and, encountering opposition to both his research and a potential love affair, the unhinged scientist decides to put the supersized primate to terrifying use!"

  • Theatrical trailer
  • US Titles
  • Brand-new interview with actor Jess Conrad
  • Image galleries
  • Limited edition booklet written by Adrian Smith

Konga is one bad film.

The Chewits monster looked more realistic.

Not really. I already have it via Network's dvd. Gough is at his hammiest too.

If it were a nice package like Dark Eyes of London then i'd have been all over it

It has lovely cover art.

If i saw it in Asda for example sat there with all the superhero crap i'm sure i'd buy it on the spot.

That however is highly unlikely.

Then again i wasn't expecting to see Red Sonja there either.

This is the end of my review of the DVD when it was first released:

"Konga isn't a classic monster movie and, until it was offered for review, I hadn't heard of it so it may be of interest to those who like all the King Kong films and those related to them. It features solid acting by Michael Gough but some really weird and extreme character developments so you need to watch it with a high degree of suspension of disbelief and try not to apply logic to any of the decisions made by the main characters if you want to reach the end with your brain intact!

It's interesting to hear Jess Conrad (in the intro) describe the film as 'kitsch' and I didn't consider it to be a 'camp classic' on either of the times I watched it. Perhaps a third viewing will change my opinion and raise it in my estimations but, for the time being, it's a disappointing and forgettable gorilla movie which I'll be unlikely to revisit in a year's time."
