Optimum will release The Living Dead at the Manchester Morgue on 11th January 2010.

I wonder if they'll transfer the extras from the Anchor Bay release over? The special features weren't really exciting originally. An interview with Jorge Grau, posters and stills gallery, TV spots and a collector's booklet.

I doubt it. The dropped the extras from their Dead & Buried and Xtro reissues.

Although you get top class transfers on Optimum's discs, their downside is that you very rarely get extras on older genre films....

Their Turkey Shoot disc suprised me. It had an interview with the director (not mentioned on the box) and a making of!

At least they normally source the longest uncut print available as they did with Darling, which makes their release of the shorter Lost Continent even more unusual.

Oh no,no one can knock their output or film choices, and the prints are always great.
I very rarely watch extras anyway,I'm just glad to get an uncut, pristine copy of a film....

Yeah, its great Optimum source the best prints but IMO it's annoying that they drop the extras of films that had previously been released as SE.

Until one turned up a few years ago I didn't even think an uncut print of Darling was still in existence.

Yes it's a shame Optimum are pretty thin on the ground extras-wise now. Their releases of Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer and Emmanuelle were pretty good.

I wonder if they are doing a SE of Emanuelle as i noticed a few months back they had submitted a newdoc about the film to the bbfc.

Their disc of Rosemarys Killer has a stunning print. Which makes up for the lack of extra content.

Whoever restores these prints at Optimum certainy knows what they're doing.
The only bad Optimum print I've seen is THE EXTERMINATOR,but is there a decent print of that anywhere?
The ABUS disc is pretty abysmal as well.
Anyone own the R4 disc?
