I have the Anchor Bay director's cut which is a little longer than the first UK dvd. When the US soldier is decapitated, there's a few extra seconds of the severed head as it's hanging by a few shreds of skin, in slow motion (Among other things).

Well spotted there Mark. The Optimum DVD is possibly the same print as the latter. Optimum generally source the longest prints around though they seem to have dropped the ball with Charge Of The Light Brigade and The Lost Continent (and possibly Sammy Going South too).

We still haven't heard whether Optimum were able to source the longest available print of Xtro either.

There seems to be little difference in length between the Film 2000 print (which missed some footage) and the Optimum one. Be useful to know for definite though.

I rechecked my First Independent VHS last night and the scenes are intact.

Anyone here seen Feast 2? I didn't care for it much myself. It contained a scene that actually made me sick to my stomach and It takes a lot to make me feel like that.

I'll pick up Night Of The Comet and Howling 2.I already have the region 1 MGM dvds but I'll get the Optimum versions for covers (the NOTC region 1 dvd art is atrocious)
