My XTRO DVD arrived today.
Extras unfortunately only include the trailer.
Running time is 83 mins and is 1;85;1 aspect ratio.

I expect the transfer as usual pic-quality-wise will be gallus.

Super Happy

Nice cover, shame about the extras.

I think i'll be avoiding this release (unless it's a complete print) and stick with Film 2000's equivalent. One of the company's better DVDs by a long chalk imo.

Is it a NTSC/PAL transfer like the Film 2000 disc?

Can you tell us whether the print of Xtro on the Optimum DVD features the scenes of dialogue that were missing from the Image Entertainment R1 disc, reaper?

There were 3 shots missing (or reduced) in the UK/US DVD prints and only available on the German Marketing Films DVD.....

1. A brief shot of Anna Wing rushing to the door after the bell rings (saying "I'm coming, I'm coming") which opens to reveal the mother of all Action Men.
2. As Rachel & Sam visit the house she enters first and says "Someone's been here" before opening the window to remove the smell of gas.
3. A rather silly scene where Joe (the photographer) talks to the budgie at his studio.

The old video versions featured all of the above.

So did the Film 2000 disc and it was just a lousy NTSC/PAL transfer. I'd be very suprised if Optimum paid for a new transfer.

Just noticed Optimum are going to release a widescreen version of The Howling 2.
