Was'nt quite sure about the artwork for the cover,but I quite like the painting style for the cover,has to be better than the photoshopped rubbish you get nowadays....(was this an original foriegn poster perhaps???)...discuss...(I said discus not whinge.....)

The original UK/US art is even more exploiting. Makes Kronos out to perhaps be a caped superhero.

The BBFC have passed "The Stranglers of Bombay" uncut with a '15' certificate

Presumably this is the first time that the film have been released uncensored. It was cut on it's original cinema release in 1959, and then cut further for it's video release in 1996

All cuts have now been waived, including the 7 seconds removed from the video release for animal cruelty - a scene of a mongoose fighting a snake

Once again, a mockery is made of the animal violence law!

I'm not so sure. Seven seconds isn't a long time. It's not like cannibal films where there are minutes and minutes of the stuff.

Two animals scrapping briefly isn't the same as skinning a mongoose alive. Well not to me it isn't anyway.

Plus of course the film is black and white rather than glorious technicolor.

I'll be interested to see exactly which version of the film this is. The US, the UK or a new version altogether.

While enjoying the swashbuckling and womaning of a certain Kronos,I had totally forgot that there was bats in this film,big fluffy ones with the wing span of your average Pterodactylus ....and looking remarably like flying Basil Brushes...Other than that a great film,although it does'nt feel like a Hammer movie at all,with plenty of real outside locations,(Borehamwood I would assume)and Brian Clemens bringing a very much an action film vide.The only down side for me was that they should of used more of Ian Hendry 's character Kerro,or gave him his own film at least.... out 5

BBFC category cuts were required for an 'A" rated cinema release in 1959. These cuts have persisted to all releases since. Further animal cruelty cuts were required for a 15 rated VHS release in 1996, but these video cuts were waived for 15 rated Blu-ray in 2018.
