Yeah, I got mine from Amazon for £16.37 (must've had a discount code) when it came out. I'd probably buy Phenomena for that price

The layout is exactly the same as English Gothic and American Gothic.

I've read it cover to cover with no problems. The prose is just as engaging as ever for me and he covers quite a few movies that I'd never heard of before.

I don't think dip in and out formats suit large scale overviews like this as you don't appreciate how the genre has developed reading it like that. Plus it encourages short attention spans like the internet

Rigby's stubborn insistence on using original language titles for all films is my first issue. Many of them are far far better known by English titles so trying to use the index for anything is a lost cause. Why not include a director index?
Why are most of the header box things with basic info about the films not actually on the same page as the films they refer too? As I said it's a highly informative read but I would have appreciated a more accessible layout.

True enough an English title index would be very helpful to those unfamiliar with the original foreign language title. I don't find it a major problem as I've become fairly familiar with the foreign language titles over the years, at least for the well known ones - I might think differently if he ever does an Asian Gothic

I can't buy into this whole 4k malarkey. Few years will we all be sold the same stuff again with a 6k restoration? Where do we stop? My eyes are only so good.

Don't you mean 8K? It always doubles in pixels

You're right though companies have already started mastering in 8K ready for the next wave of upgrading. I believe My Fair Lady had an 8K scan.

Any reason why? I can't remember seeing anything wrong with the existing Arrow release and I do not own the hardware to play something with a higher resolution.

Time to upgrade and replace all your collection again.

You know you just have to see Hellgate in 8k.
