Just seen this on Facebook *** RELEASE DATE UPDATES *** Sadly we have to announce a slight delay on two of our upcoming releases. The release of SOLID METAL NIGHTMARES: THE FILMS OF SHINYA TSUKAMOTO is moving back from April 28 to a new release date of May 26. This is due to unforeseen issues at the authoring stages. The release of ALEJANDRO JODOROWSKY COLLECTION has unfortunately also been delayed, moving from March 30 to a new temporary release date of June 15. This is due to unforeseen circumstances relating to content approvals. We can only sincerely apologise for the delays on these two releases, but we aim to make sure all our releases are of the premium quality expected from an Arrow release, and we really hope that you'll forgive us once they are released. If you haven’t yet, order your copy of these release today via the below links: Shinya Tsukamoto () - https://amzn.to/2xv9YUD Alejandro Jodorowsky () - http://bit.ly/2Sdz1E2 Sent from my POT-LX1 using Tapatalk

ARROW ACADEMY "***NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS*** Due to the impact of coronavirus some releases have become and will continue to be challenging. The entire Arrow team have now moved to remote working and we’ll be making sure to stay up to date with the latest news and recommendations to ensure we are working safely whilst keeping the quality of our releases high. With the above in mind, we are taking a new approach to our regular monthly announcements for the foreseeable future. Announcements will potentially be done in stages - as we are able to confirm contents and secure delivery timelines. We will try and keep these to Fridays and give notice that announcements are upcoming but there may be some sudden, surprise reveals along the way. We will also aim to follow up these release announcements with any sudden delayed confirmations within the month (where applicable). With much of our manufacturing being done in Europe and overseas and situations changing daily we may need to revise this approach down the line - but we’ll of course keep you all informed. Looking forward to our upcoming titles, we are pleased to confirm that our June Academy reveals will be taking place this Friday at 3pm GMT, 8.00am PDT / 11.00am EDT as they typically would. Thanks as always for your continued support. Make sure to stay safe and look after one another." No pictures this month

ARROW ACADEMY NEW UK/US/CA TITLE: America As Seen by a Frenchman (Blu-ray) A wide-eyed – perhaps even naïve – journey through a multitude of different Americas, filtered through a French sensibility. "At the end of the 1950s, celebrated French documentarian François Reichenbach (F for Fake, Portrait: Orson Welles), whose lens captured the likes of Brigitte Bardot and Johnny Hallyday, spent eighteen months travelling the United States, documenting its diverse regions, their inhabitants and their pastimes. The result, America As Seen by a Frenchman, is a wide-eyed – perhaps even naïve – journey through a multitude of different Americas, filtered through a French sensibility and serving as a fascinating exploration of a culture that is both immediately familiar and thoroughly alien. Prison rodeos; Miss America pageants; visits to Disneyland and a school for striptease; a town inhabited solely by twins; rows of newborns in incubators, like products on an assembly line – all these weird and wondrous sights, and more, are captured, sans jugement, by Reichenbach’s camera, aided by whimsical narration (provided by, among others, Jean Cocteau) and a jaunty musical score by the late, great Michel Legrand (Une femme est une femme). Titled L’Amérique insolite – literally “unusual America” – in its native tongue, America As Seen by a Frenchman lovingly renders the various eccentricities of Americana circa the mid-twentieth century, and proves the old adage that reality really is stranger than fiction." ARROW ACADEMY NEW UK/US/CA TITLE: The Mad Fox (Blu-ray) Finally available outside Japan, Tomu Uchida took inspiration from Bunraku and kabuki theater for arguably his strangest and most lavishly cinematic film "In stark contrast to the monochrome naturalism of his earlier masterwork Bloody Spear at Mount Fuji, visionary master director Tomu Uchida took inspiration from Bunraku and kabuki theater for arguably his strangest and most lavishly cinematic film, The Mad Fox. Amidst a mythically-depicted medieval Japan, a court astrologer foretells a great disturbance that threatens to split the realm in two. His bitter and treacherous wife conspires to have the astrologer killed, as well as their adopted daughter, Sakaki. The astrologer’s master apprentice, Yasuna, who was in love with Sakaki, is driven mad with grief and escapes to the countryside. There, he encounters Sakaki’s long-lost twin, Kuzunoha, and the pair meet a pack of ancient fox spirits in the woods, whose presence may be the key to restoring Yasuna’s sanity, and in turn bringing peace to the fracturing nation. Finally available outside Japan for the first time, Uchida’s stunning, wildly stylised widescreen tableaux – using expressionist sets and colour schemes – are highlighted in a world premiere Blu-ray release." So amazon send me an email saying "no release date" for Beyond The Door. Amazon have it listed as 6th April. So does coronavirus mean pressing dvds is more dangerous than working in a shop? BecauseI'm still going in. Arrow: Please continue to operate, shelf stackers the world over are shaming you, in contact with the public every day, getting shouted at. You're in a controlled environment. Will wait & see what happens. |
