That's Hut Lld. Since the take over its gone mad.

Also, their prices swing wildly on Amazon. Stone Women was 35, I pre ordered it at 28.99 (even that made be queasy) and it was 33.49 yesterday. I mean, come off it arrow!

88 films 24.99 sets are absolutely great and at least a match for the arrow big boxes.

alot of people would argue about ptich black being cult though and what u want is best described as obscure. I mean yes they are doing mainstream titles but they also releasing those boxsets of z movie directors too.

Basically with arrow, my feeling is it has gone downhill over the last few years, just less buying their stuff, taking more interest in what other companies are doing. Do describe 88 as a company that's doing about the right balance between people's interests, although like others i'm not spending £25 just for a book.

Yeah cant remember last time i brought a special edition release from arrow and no ****ing way am i spending £35 just for 1 movie.

The ltd ed set of DUNE was 25 quid in HMV.

And whilst not entirely cult,I’d LOVE to see THE FRIGHTENERS get the all singing dancing treatment...it’s great.

And if releasing films like True Romance keeps the Brotherhood of Satans rolling along, then so be it.

It's possible for cult films to be made by big studios. Pitch Black and True Romance are cult films. True Romance is only considered mainstream by some because QT has been accepted by the mainstream.

the boxoffice hits of 1993 were:
Jurassic Park
The Fugitive
The Firm
Sleepless in Seattle
Mrs. Doubtfire
Indecent Proposal
In the Line of Fire
Aladdin
Cliffhanger
A Few Good Men
Free Willy
Groundhog Day
Dave
Rising Sun
Scent of a Woman
Cool Runnings

True Romance doesn't bare any resemblance to that type of movie and was 104th in the boxoffice. It's reputation has grown from video releases and word of mouth.

Pitch Black was a low budget pick-up by Universal and a surprise mini-hit

What an brilliantly eclectic mix of movies.

Today that would be a load of Marvel and DC superhero movies and two cartoons.

I don't know what I was doing in 1993 but I only saw The Fugitive and Jurassic Park out of that list, I definitely went to the cinema more than twice though I would have been 16.

Exactly I use to go cinema quite Often in younger days, now barely 3 times a yr (exception of covid) fast and furious and similar films are not my scene,
Micheal bay style bigger crash bang wallop boom aren’t either, and same goes for marvel and dc, then their kids films etc , and the ones that don’t fall in that category are slim pickings to what does interest me.
