The film, I believe, was shot hard matted at 1.85 but in Europe it would have been projected at 1.66. So technically, it wasn't an incorrect aspect ratio, but it does cut off the sides of the image. It was just weird that they didn't include the 1.85 aspect ratio whch is how it would have been projected in America - 1.85 is the more aesthetically pleasing choice imho.
