Could certainly lead to an interesting time if Arrow did decide to start their own Slasher range. However don't forget Arrows previous lines have mostly been abandoned - Masters of Giallo, Arrowdrome etc.

As Arrow are mostly buying the rights to both UK and US releases these days there can't be that many slashers available for licensing in the US? Don't Fox, MGM etc own a huge amount of them to begin with?

Who said they're mostly buying for both? Much of what they've out out here it are putting out is out incoming out in the US. In fact, this last yeR it's become very apparent that they're quite aggressively going after stuff licenced to Criterion and Twilight Time.

But the idea of Arrow launching in the US was to put out releases in dual countries, so buying the rights for both the UK and US.

Ther's still a lot of unreleased slashers on Blu ray out there. Maybe not some of the major ones, but a lot of smaller ones. There are still a few big ones, like Hell Night, that maybe Arrow could get.

As for the Mutilator, it would make sense for Arrow to do that as a dual region, as it was my understanding that Bill no longer has the rights.

I would not be one who welcome a slasher line from Arrow, let other labels concentrate on that, there are so many more obscure horror films that no label will likely put out r.g The House That Screamed

Do Shout Factory have the rights to that or not?

I thought it was coming out on one of those 4-packs at one point until it was changed to The Vampire Lovers.

If you believe the hyperbolic copy they had on that indigogo page it is. The reality of it is that most of the films that they've already put out or would eye for release have already been scoffed up by other established labels.

I certainly don't have anything against Arrow and have and will continue to buy the company's releases but they've set themselves up for a big fall in the US, IMO. They're entering too late in the game and that cringe-inducing Indigogo copy in which it was mentioned that they (and I'm paraphrasing) were going to "show the U.S. companies how it's done" was as arrogant as it was naive.

They actually said that?

Woah! Big words indeed-labels like Shout Factory aren't gonna take someone stomping on their patch too kindly.

Time will tell if they've got the muscle.....
