There is a possibilty that the US only releases might not be Region A coded and ABC coded instead. I wonder what titles they've managed to pick that they could only get the US rights for?

I bought 3 Foehn & Hirsh blu-ray players from ebuyer for £50 each, all multi region you can still find some on ebay for sale.

At that price it was worth it as I used one in the bedroom and gave one to my son for his room.

Decent enough players as well, you just need enter a code on the remote each time to make them play region A locked blu-rays

Considering the first dvd player I bought cost around £400 (and I also had to buy a step down transformer) and I can remember paying about the same again for my first blu-ray player, is there any reason not be to multi region for blu-ray these days?

Surely its well worth the price of a multi region player to make region coding an irrelevance
You cant get 50 quid players anymore, amazon they start at £175 and on ebay £117

Theres a few around if you look for them

Besides that, even at £117 or £175 that's a small price to pay for multi region freedom, its only the cost of around half a dozen new blu-rays.

If you have a Panasonic Blu Ray Player and the model is included in the list, you can purchase this disc from TPS for £60:

Not to derail the thread too much (seeing we have dedicated threads for region free BD players), but I'd recommend looking here for one. I got my Panny from there which can be made multi region by pressing a few buttons

My player qualifies for this but I've had no luck in getting some user testimonials before shelling out for an upgrade disc.

TPS are a well established company so no problems there. The only thing I would check up on is how would you perform FW updates with this FW on board.
