For me, the opening of the Kinda box at the end of episode 2 was one of the most tense, edge-of-the-seat, sweaty palm moments in the entire history of the show

Been watching some series 9 of late and - gasp - didn't hate it. The Zygon 2 parter is dumb, the immigration metaphor is as subtle as a half brick to the face and they should not have used the Zygons for this, but it was watchable enough. I dug the cliffhanger and the Clara twist. And Sleep No More, which I quite liked too. The major issue again is the concept behind the monsters, which makes zero sense and is very silly, even if I liked the idea of the Morpheus machine itself. But it's got a good atmosphere and I liked the ending, even if the found footage riff seems wholly unnecessary.
Maybe I'm going soft...

Series 9 was my worst series since the 2005 reboot. Following the Davros two parter it goes downhill very quickly. The rest is very poor in my opinion except Face the Raven.

And then series 11 and the Chibnall era came along
