The Doctor (William Hartnell) stars alongside his travel companions Vicki (Maureen O’Brien) and Steven (Peter Purves) which sees the TARDIS landing on a planet on the verge of total annihilation as it drifts too close to the three suns which it orbits. Trapped on the planet with them are the Drahvins, a race of warrior women, and the reptilian Rills. The Drahvins want to steal the Rill spaceship to escape the planet’s death throes, and enlist the Doctor’s help, which he is forced to give when Maaga, the cunning Drahvin leader, keeps first Vicki and then later Steven as her hostage. Even though the Doctor is determined to broker a peace deal between the two sides in this conflict and help everyone escape safely, Maaga doesn’t trust him, or the Rills…

Ghost Light arrived, so that's what I'll be doing tonight.

I absolutely love Ghost Light. Top five of all time for me.

If you have the same love then you'll need to get the Blu-ray when it's relreleased so you can watch the extended workprint.

Plus the Blu-ray picture quality is, well it's not like watching it through a haze for a start. It's different class altogether. Of all the stories i've seen in upscaled HD Ghost Light is the one that benefited most.

Enjoy.

Mind you, some of the animation looks a bit dodgy!

I notice they're not showing the humans.

Still, I'm excited. The idea of a widescreen full colour Hartnell story is quite tantalising.

Here's an exclusive image of Steven Taylor as voiced by Peter Purves.

Yup, Ghost Light was still as bonkers as I remembered

The comm should be fun methinks, so it'll be the doc and that later.
I wonder if Moloko saw this one as I'm sure I saw the singer wearing Light's costume in a video once

From memory, one of the people providing the commentary is the stories writer, Marc Platt, who spends a lot of the time saying he has absolutely no idea what is going on in his adventure!
