Dr. Who And The Daleks. 1965. The Doctor show's Ian, the boyfriend of his granddaughter Barbara his time machine The TARDIS, along with Susan they are transported to a planet ruled by the Daleks and help a race of people called Thals who the Daleks want to destroy. This was the first of two Dr Who films with Peter Cushing and first time actually seeing this one all the way through, Roy castle teams up with Mr Cushing (after Dr Terror's House Of Horror) and still brings comedy to his character which to me seems daft. Jennie Linden stars as Barbara, who does one or two bits of screaming but never goes over the top and brings some good entertainment. Roberta Tovey plays the young Susan and shows how talented she is at being brave and smart like her grandfather. Decent Sunday night entertainment with some good and forgotten effects. Daleks' Invasion Earth 2150 A.D. 1966. The doctor, his neice, granddaughter and a policeman travel to the future where Daleks are trying to conquer the earth. Peter Cushing and Roberta Tovey return for the second film along with Jill Curzon as his niece Louise and Bernard Cribbins as P.C. Tom and Andrew Keir who plays the some what hero of the rebels fighting against the Daleks with wheelchair bound Godfrey Quigley and Ray Brooks. This one has always been enjoyable to watch, anything with Andrew Keir you know it be good, his acting is usually grumpy or speaking loudly and thankfully you don't need subtitles on when he is talking. The effects are a bit outdated but still manage to work even for the spaceship to crash at the mine was probably more effective back in the day, still good set pieces to admire from the Dalek control room.
