The cover of Doctor Who Magazine issue 515, published in September 2017, paid tribute to Steven Moffat's time as show runner with the headline 'End of an era' and images of all the Doctor's who had appeared in the show during his tenure.

Clockwise - The first (David Bradley), twelfth (Peter Capaldi). eleventh (Matt Smith), War Doctor (John Hurt), eighth (Paul McGann), fourth / curator (Tom Baker) and the tenth (David Tennant)

'End of an era' sums it all up for me as the show has only rarely felt like Doctor Who in the years since.
