Quite enjoyed Robot of Sherwood. A fun story with some great comedy moments. Never going to be one of the greats but a lot of fun all the same. Really liking Capaldi so far. A refreshing change from the last two Doctors. Jenna was excellent. Great to see Clara coming into her own as well.

Was it just me or was the beheading scene actually shown? I definitely saw a robot head severed then bounce on the floor during the final showdown

I thought that too. But it was rumoured that it was the sherrif. The end of that scene did seem a bit choppy (no pun intended). Perhaps he hit the edge of the vat of oil.

Did anyone notice Patrick Troughton's cameo picture as Robin Hood from the 1950's?

Do you think it was filmed twice?

The sheriff clearly was pushed off the ledge just as the Doctor did to Robin on the bridge.

Although not human there were limbs being lopped off all episode.

I don't think it was filmed twice. He was pushed and when he fell in, maybe hit his head somehow, taking it off. People seem to think the last shot, which I said looked choppy, maybe had his head floating to the surface. But who knows, I'm sure it'll be on the dvd/blu-ray, and we'll know for sure.

Yes! Superb touch to another very enjoyable episode.
I thought the robot knights were very much a classic Who kind of 'monster'.
Peter Capaldi has nailed the character already for me and his relationship with Clara is proving much better than probably anyone expected.
Roll on next week!

It was the Sheriff that was to be decapitated, it was supposed to happen during the first part of the fight with Robin before they both swung up onto the beam above the molten pit.

Yes, there was dialogue revealing that the Sheriff had been killed during the crash landing of the Robot's ship but they had managed to revive him as a cyborg.

Yeah I know he said he was part man, part machine (all very RoboCop), just wasn't sure when he was beheaded.
