Yet it's eerily similar to this one.

Maybe they just gave a chimp some coloured pencils and said copy this, Inspector.

TARGET Books from around the world, part 7: France

These books were published in France in 1987 to coincide with the series being shown for the first time in that country. A batch of early Tom Baker stories were shown as part of a SF magazine show called 'Temps X', hosted by Igor and Grichka Bogdanoff, who are pictured on the covers of these books...

1: An Unearthly Child
2: The Dalek Invasion Of Earth
3: Meglos
4: The Abominable Snowmen
5: The Brain Of Morbius
6: The Crusaders - The facepalm from the Doctor is a nice touch, but probably out of character!
7: The Daleks
8: The Masque Of Mandragora

Those French covers are brilliant. I always knew Hartnell wore the long scarf...and Troughton!

Love The Crusades art.

That Three Doctors one is a bit bizarre with the smiling doctors, looks like Omega is an evil teacher, telling off Troughton, meanwhile Hartnel and Pertwee are laughing their tits off.

All three are official Target novel reprint covers from 1991. Albeit slightly differing. As you can see from this graphic.

This was the original UK cover, published in 1975. It's the one I have got. Cost me 35p!

Yes that's the best one. The first reprint which i've also got was a bit bland in my opinion.

I used to gaze at that cover and fear for the Doctors as Omega sent energy waves out of his hands and into their heads.

Damn you Target Books, despite being a cracking story that never happened.
