It seems that Victor Pemberton has died, aged 85

Probably best known to most of us as a Doctor Who writer (he 'invented' the sonic screwdriver in the story 'Fury From The Deep'), he also wrote for 'Timeslip', 'Ace Of Wands' and 'The Adventures Of Black Beauty'. As well as being a writer, he produced a couple of documentaries about Benny Hill in 1991 and worked on the Muppet-esque 'Fraggle Rock'
