Speculation, rumour and talk! "It has been reported that the classic villain The Valeyard will be storming back to Doctor Who on Christmas Day and face the Twelfth and First Doctor in the snowy landscape. Take it with a pinch of salt, but revealed on the Doctor Who discussion website, Gallifrey Base, Mark Gatiss' role as The Captain in the Christmas Special has the surname of Averlady. Now, it doesn't exactly take a genius to work it out, but if your [sic] re-arrange those letters, you get the word Valeyard." The Valeyard To Make An Epic 'Doctor Who' Comeback This Christmas

My favourite story when I first started getting into Who as a nipper - one of the more 'darker' tales I find too and I must have read the Target novel about 20+ times. Unfortunately it's one that can be never seen in its entirety.

December 6th, 1989 - The third and final episode of 'Survival' is broadcast by the BBC. This brought to an end the run of the original show, with the Doctor and Ace walking away from the camera, featuring the monologue: "There are worlds out there where the sky is burning, the sea's asleep, and the rivers dream. People made of smoke, and cities made of song. Somewhere there's danger, somewhere there’s injustice, and somewhere else the tea's getting cold. Come on, Ace — we’ve got work to do!"
