You could definitely hear a Dalek death ray in the trailer for the NYD episode.

But I'm past caring, frankly. New Who has jumped the shark big time, and it ain't coming back from it after this.

You've got that wrong.

The BBC said that there won't be a new series until 2189. Check The Daily Telegraph.

A three year run? That's good as it means one of those years will be a gap year so she'll only do two actual series.
