So it's safe to say we'll see another Alien saga BR set this time including Prometheus sometime in the future. Just as well i only paid £17 for the current Alien Anthology release then!

I doubt it - it's not really a prequel to Alien as such, although it started out that way. According to Scott it 'shares DNA' with Alien but it's not linked to it in the way a prequel is.

The trailer has officially bumped this up to my most anticipated movie of 2012, previously held by The Dark Knight Rises! It looks stunning in the trailer and I hope Scott knocks this out of the park!!!!
wayfarer likes this.

Does look like a good trailer. Shared more visual similarites with Alien than I was expecting - there's the space jockey obviously but there also appeared to be a brief acid-on-space-helmet moment and a part which looked reminiscent of the discovery of the eggs (which are werird little canister pod things in the trailer). There's also, perhaps more obviously, the way the titles slowly appear and the font but I suspect that's more to do with the way Fox are marketing the film than anything else.

Yeah, well impressed with the Prometheus trailer. Looks a very classy project indeed. Miles better than the oddly patchy and muddled trailer for The Dark Knight Rises . . .

Really? I watched it back to back with the trailer for The Dark Knight - there's no comparison. With the trailer for the previous film you got a clear idea of the story, and an introduction to each character and how they fit into it. You get none of that with the new trailer really, plus it lacks any kind of wow factor aside from that (oddly comical) money shot with the collapsing football pitch . . .

You do, but only in the 2nd full The Dark Knight trailer (which I'm guessing is the one you watched). The first one, which was released pretty much 4 years to the day of the new Dark Knight Rises trailer, is basically just Batman Vs Joker = explosions. Harvey Dent's not even in it! There'll be a more revealing trailer next year before the film's released.

I'm really intrigued by Prometheus now though - I wasn't too bothered about it before seeing the trailer.
