Afraid so. The UK video is the uncut version. Ditto for the US laserdisc.

Saw Flash Gordon at the cinema when i was very young. Still really enjoy it now. Ming is one of the my fave bad guys of all time. That film has a great cast. Can't beat a bit of Brian Blessed

Tron is another one i cant get enough of (could be the best disney film ever made). i hope the new film is up to scratch, the preview that's been released looks great but you never know how the film is going to be, trailers can be very deceiving (just look at the phantom menace?!)

Dune and Blade Runner are obvious classics but i still think the 70's had some of the best sci-fi in my opinion. You guys have already mentioned a few i don't know though so Iv'e got some researching to do now!

oh and megaforce rules!

i watched space hunter a couple of weeks ago, it's an awesome film, the opening with the sand ship is classic, i actually forgot Molly Ringwald was in it.

you can get the region 1 dvd from amazon for less than £4.

I saw this on the cinema in 3-D back in the 80's. Definitely one of the better 3-D films of the time.

I heard (wrongly as it turned out) that he was considered for role of 'Odin' in Kenneth Branagh's Thor movie.

He's also doing a one-man show, on tour, I think of regional theatres.
Tickets are pricey, though... Anyone seen his "evening with Brian Blessed" show, or planning to see him?

Mention of Spacehunter reminds me that I saw Ice Pirates (great campy sci-fi!), a few months ago.
