CM Punk and Jeff Hardy could have an entire series of 'Dark Side Of The Ring' between them!

The results from the 2023 Fastlane Pay Per View:

SPOILER:
  • The opening bout of the evening was the Tag team match for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship which ended with Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso won the title from Damian Priest and Finn Balor
  • Next up was a Six-man tag team match where the lWo [Latino World Order] (Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar) and a 'mystery partner' defeated the team of Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford). For about three-quarters of the bout, Mysterio and Escobar were on their own in the ring until their mystery partner was revealed as... Carlito, who was making his return after last being seen at the Backlash PPV in May
  • The third match was the sole female one which was a Triple threat match for the WWE Women's Championship which ended when champion Iyo Sky defeated both Asuka and Charlotte Flair to retain the title
  • The penultimate match. a standard Tag team match, ended when LA Knight and a returning John Cena [who was last seen at the Money in the Bank in July] defeated The Bloodline (Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa) [with Paul Heyman]
  • The final match was a Last Man Standing for the World Heavyweight Championship one which ended when champion Seth Rollins ensured Shinsuke Nakamura was unable to answer the ref's 10 second count to retain the title

Fastlane was a low-key event, with only five matches being contested. With no bout lasting less than 10 minutes, it was considered a success that exceeded all expectations and, although there were no 'match of the year' contenders, the return of Carlito and Cena ensured it was a memorable night

The next scheduled WWE PPV is the annual Saudi Arabia extravaganza 'Crown Jewel', which is due to be held on November 4th

The results from the 5th annual Crown Jewel Pay Per View, held at the Mohammed Abdu Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia were:

SPOILER:
  • The opening pre-show bout was won by Sami Zayn who defeated JD McDonagh by pinfall
  • The first match of the event was a singles match for the World Heavyweight Championship which finished when Seth Rollins defeated Drew McIntyre by pinfall to retain the title. After the match had ended, Damien Priest ran in and attempted to cash in his Money in the Bank contract. However, he was stopped by Sami Zayn, who ran off with the briefcase. It should also be noted that there were more than 20 minutes between the end of the pre-show bout and the start of this match!
  • Next up was a fatal five-way match for the Women's World Championship which ended when Rhea Ripley defeated Shayna Baszler by pinfall to retain the championship. Also involved in the bout were Nia Jax, Raquel Rodriguez and Zoey Stark
  • Next up was a standard singles match where Solo Sikoa defeated John Cena by pinfall
  • There followed an interlude where The Miz tried to host an episode of Miz TV with Saudi actor and comedian Ibrahim Al Hajjaj before Grayson Waller came out and tried to hijack the segment to turn it into his show. Waller ended up getting hit with a Skull Crushing Finale to end the segment and cement The Miz as a babyface.
  • The fourth match was a singles match for the WWE United States Championship which ended when Logan Paul used a set of brass knuckles to defeate Rey Mysterio and thus gain the title
  • The second woman's match of the evening was a singles match for the WWE Women's Championship which resulted in Iyo Sky retaining the title when she defeated Bianca Belair by pinfall
  • The penultimate match of the event was a standard singles match where Cody Rhodes defeated Damian Priest by pinfall
  • The main event of the evening was a singles match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship which saw Roman Reigns (with Paul Heyman) defeat LA Knight by pinfall to retain the title

Overall, it was a fairly standard PPV

The next WWE PPV is due to be the Survivor Series: War Games event, to be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois
