OK - wrestling IS fake, but sometimes reality creeps in!

Probably already mentioned in the 88Films thread (release date 8th June)...

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...91_em_sim_4_ti - Pro Wrestlers vs Zombies

"After Shane "The Franchise" Douglas accidentally kills a fellow wrestler in the ring, the deceased wrestler's brother Angus (Ashton Amherst) decides to take matters into his own hands by summoning an ancient demon to seek revenge. He's granted the power of necromancy and Angus wastes no time in tricking Shane and Rowdy Roddy Piper into traveling to a remote location by promising them money in return for a personal appearance. Once there, Shane and Roddy must fight their way through hordes of flesh-eating zombies and stop Angus before he takes his revenge any further."

From the world of wrestling, the film features:

Roddy Piper as Himself
Kurt Angle as Himself
Matt Hardy as Himself
Jim Duggan as Himself
Reby Sky as Herself
Shane Douglas as Himself

Sorry, not WWE, but TNA news. After being dropped by Spike TV and the latest TNA reboot with new channel Destination America , its been leaked that Destination America will not be signing a new deal with TNA and plan to have all wrestling off the channel by September .
This should'nt affect the UK tv episodes of TNA but it will tv effect America and Canada untill TNA can find a new channel . TNA seem to be having it bad at the moment with forced talent cuts , top star Samoa Joe jumping to WWE NXT and Jeff Hardy out for an unknown time due to a motorcycle accident .

Back to WWE, Al Snow, ex Attitude Era WWF Hardcore champion who's currently the champion of my local fed rpro Wrestling Ulster , returns to Belfast on May 31st to defend the title . I had vip tickets for Al's last show in Belfast and he was a true gent. The queue at the 'meet and greet' was building up fast and Al's merch had'nt arrived yet he answered everything I asked him and more then I got a few pics taken with Al and 'head'.
Can't wait till meet him again . I bought vip again as im a total wrestling 'mark' lol.

Al Snow was always seen as a joke wrestler, because of the 'head' gimmick, and the (kayfabe) comments made about him by Mick Foley in his books

Me - I have a lot of time for him, and have always enjoyed his matches, especially infamous 'Kennel From Hell' match!!!!!!!

When I read about that the first thing I thought was "remember this is TNA" they have some of the most daft 'works' in the wrestling business, Dixie being dragged by Hogan along the floor begging him to stay Bischoff being covered in s**t on his last day, AJ Styles getting a young girl pregnant(an actress who really was up the duff played the part, very, very badly) to try to turn him 'heel', and some say that Jeff Hardy being too stoned to wrestle Sting live on PPV tv was also a 'work' to get Hardy off tv as he faced possible prison(for real) for drug charges, the ratings for TNA are lower than hoped but this feels like a 'work' to get people interested and tune in to see the 'last' days of TNA so getting the ratings and viewing figures up, IMHO a network would cancel with immediate effect not wait and keep the show on-air for months.

Almost certainly NOT a WWE sanctioned film, but currently listed as being 'in production' is something entitled 'Crossface', which is a biopic based on the life of wrestler Chris Benoit

It looks like Sting suffered a legitimate injury at Night Of Champions

https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/blogs/th...160825536.html

"After the event, veteran wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer that “Sting's injury was legitimate and we're trying to get more information on it. The early reports we have is that the injury was significant.""
