A lot of (to me) surprise entrants in the 2018 Royal Rumble matches The men's event saw the return of The Hurricane (last seen in the ring in February 2010) and Rey Mysterio (February 2015), while the woman's event had Lita (November 2006), Torrie Wilson (May 2008), Molly Holly (April 2009), Michelle McCool (May 2011), Vicky Guerrero (June 2014), Kelly Kelly (December 2012), Jacqueline (June 2004), Beth Phoenix (October 2012), Brie Bella (April 2016) and Trish Stratus (September 2011)

Delighted to see Ronda Rousey has signed up with WWE. Love that she used pipers logo and the t-shirt with the leather jacket.

Nordy... prepare for my prediction, Rhonda will have a big build-up only to be beaten by... Stephanie at Wrestlemania, as Steph & Triple H seem incapable of losing a match or looking inferior to anyone on the roster (and I bet Stephanie wins by an arm-bar submission too) Rhonda will rip thru the women's roster only to be stopped in a ridiculous hyped up match with Stephanie.

Apparently Goldberg and The Dudley Boyz (D'Von & Bubba Ray) are the first names to be revealed for induction into the 2018 WWE Hall Of Fame

WWE Hall-Of-Famer Bruno Sammartino has died, aged 82 On May 17th, 1963, he won the WWWF (World Wide Wrestling Federation) World Heavyweight Championship, and he kept the title until losing it on January 18th, 1971 - an incredible 2803 days (or 7 years and 8 months) later! He would regain the title on December 10th, 1973 before losing it again on April 30th, 1977 - a mere 1237 days (or 3 years and 4 months) later!!

World of Sport Wrestling to return to British TV screens - BBC News Why? When are these people going to realise that British wrestling just doesn't work anymore? As much as I enjoyed WWF wrestling, the British version cannot hold a candle to it, and comes across as being pathetic and laughable...and not in a good way The 1970's event was a product of its time, and that time has long gone

And wrestling itself doesn't come across as pathetic and laughable sorry IMO it does Sam son was watching it and it come across as cheesy, corny , fake and felt at times even rehearsed and it was more about the introduction and showmanship than the wrestling itself Sorry I'll go and hide now |

Established wrestling (i.e WWE, Impact, RoH etc) is a continuing story over a soap opera. You really don't get the full picture if you only see one episode, or watch it out of the corner of your eye. You have to watch it religiously and get to know the characters, their strengths and their weaknesses That way, it's easy to suspend belief and enjoy it as an on-going storyline Yes, there are writers involved; yes, the wrestlers know what moves their opponents are going to be using before they step into the ring; and yes, the endings of matches are predetermined but to the fans who 'get it', that doesn't matter. It's entertainment in the same way that 'Star Wars' or 'The Marvel Universe' is entertainment (and they have writers and predetermined endings as well!)
