I had a major crush on Princess Ardala back in the day.
Pamela Hensley was just awesome. After that she was C.J. in Matt Huston.
She was of course also in Rollerball (1975).

*sigh*

I used to have View Master reels for Buck Rogers. The ones of Ardala were looked at quite a lot.

Dont say that, cos then someone probably will we only moan about it being remade and complain about how fed up we are of remakes.

Sarcasm involved for those who might think im being serious. But im pretty sure you're all intelligence to realise that, only saying this cos amount of times ive said things on the net and had to explain it was a joke comment.

Finished the first season of Gomorrah, a show about 'organised' crime in the suburbs of Naples.

It's much different from things like Goodfellas or The Sopranos. There is no glamour in Gomorrah, these people are trapped in this way of life, it's actually quite depressing how they have to steal, deal and murder just to survive with little hope of escape, the housing towers over its inhabitants like a prison.

Much closer in tone to The Wire than Goodfellas.

Highly recommended.

I haven't read the book, but I really like Matteo Garrone's 2008 film with the same name as the TV adaptation. If you haven't seen it, it is one of the best crime movies ever made and is very similar to your description of the TV show.
