Fancy that myself, but I’m still binge watching Sherlock (season 4 episode 1 at the minute), so I might save it until all three episodes have aired

The first episode of Gunpowder was pretty good. It also featured one of the lesser seen methods of execution and a fairly graphic hanging, drawing and quartering. It's set int he same time period as Witchfinder General so doesn't disappoint in that respect.

Oddly it was announced afterwards that all three episodes are on the i-player now. Do the BBC not care about overnight viewing figures at all anymore?

I've recorded it, so that's good to know.

I assume there is some way they incorporate those into the overall statistics. I remember Chris Evans telling everyone they shouldn't read too much into the 'live' viewing figures for Top Gear because the way people consume TV has changed with more use of recording and the iPlayer. I'm not sure how they count the number of people who watched something while it was broadcast, but they must be able to track hits/viewings on iPlayer.

Certainly things have changed it's just the press don't seem to realise it as they often write stories based on non-live shows losing viewing figures. Especially Doctor Who.

I-Player figures are based on number of viewings above a certain time length. Not sure how many minutes without looking it up.

BARB who collate these things do it on overnights which include those that record a show then watch it that same evening, then a 7 day figure than finally a 28 day final figure. Following Doctor Who gives you a lot of knowledge in such matters.

Finished Sherlock, Demdike was right, the quality did drop after season 2, but it’s still a great show and I hope they make a fifth season

You got through those fast! I rattled through season 1 but it took me a few months to watch season 2 and I’ve stalled at 3. It’s gets too self aware I think but I still really liked it.
