That's a lot more than I thought!
The problem is though Angel was one of the (if not THE) worst characters in Buffy (for me) and I found it hard to be invested in a show that centres around him! Although Cordelia makes it easier to watch.

I didn't warm to Cordelia until she was in Angel, finding her (perhaps as Joss Whedon intended) annoying, self-centred and conceited. I didn't like Wesley (another character probably intended to be an antagonist and probably quite unlikable) until Angel either.

I have to agree. I was kind of indifferent to the spin-off at the time, just relieved that they weren't removing any of the characters in Buffy I actually cared about! To be honest I always preferred their replacements, Spike and Anya, anyway.
Angel finally got good about season 4. I can never be bothered rewatching the first three seasons, I find them a bit tedious.

I loved Angel even more than Buffy (series not characters) I remember an event mid way through the first series of Angel, i was practically in tears watching it.

No spoilers, but those who have seen it will probably know what i mean.

Don't forget that a lot of those are just crossovers with incidental characters - Wesley, Spike, Darla, Drusilla, Harmony etc

I would suggest that the only 'important' crossover episodes are:

Buffy Season Four/Angel Season One
Buffy episode 3: The Harsh Light Of Day & Angel episode 3: In The Dark
Buffy episode 8: Pangs & Angel episode 8: I Will Remember You
Buffy episodes 15 & 16: This Years Girl/Who Are You & Angel episodes 18 & 19: Five By Five/Sanctuary
Buffy episode 20: The Yoko Factor

Buffy Season Five and Angel Season Two
Buffy episode 7: Fool For Love & Angel episode 7: Darla
Buffy episode 17: Forever
Angel episode 22: There's No Place Like Plrtz Glrb

Buffy Season Six and Angel Season Three
For the 2001 seasons, the two shows moved to different networks and were shown on different days and times. Any direct movements between the shows were effectively banned. It would be like a character from Coronation Street appearing in EastEnders

Buffy Season Seven and Angel Season Four
Angel episode 15: Orpheus
Buffy episode 18: Dirty Girls
Angel episode 22: Home & Buffy episodes 21 & 22 End Of Days/Chosen

Both Buffy and Angel can both be watched quite easily as separate entities without feeling like you've missed something.

Tv back then wasn't done where you could switch shows at the click of a remote control.

Not Buffy and Angel. I couldn't give a monkeys about their on / off relationship.

I always felt Buffy was one of the least interesting characters even though it was her show so to speak.
