It's basically a standalone story, set during World War II and with nods to Casablanca and other classic films. I thought it was very funny (I'd forgotten how great some of the writing and voice acting is) and it made me want to drink a lot and go back and watch the previous eight seasons.
It starts with a Sunset Boulevard rip aye? Seen that if so, very very silly stuff hic!!

That was season seven which was then continued in the eighth, Archer: Dreamland. This one is set on an island during World War II but does have a similar self contained feel. The ending is superb, but something I can't really talk about because it's probably best when you know nothing about it. I can't wait for the 10th season to see how the story progresses.

"Semi-functioning alcoholic seaplane pilot, Sterling Archer, is a lush on the lush South Pacific island of Mitimotu in 1939. While the rest of the world is concerned about the impending Second World War, Archer is only concerned with who's buying his next drink. Along with his trusty co-pilot Pam, Sterling must navigate quicksand, cannibals, super-intelligent monkeys, poison darts, pirates, and did we mention quicksand? Welcome to the mysterious and deadly world of Archer: Danger Island."

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier ... Spy.

BBC adaptation of the le Carre novel. The usual stalwarts embody some shadowy characters to reasonable effect. Unfussy direction enables the story to unfold at a pace consumate with the production's age. How shrieking tv has become stands out whilst watching something of this pedigree.

Edge Of Darkness next tis then

Watched first episode of season two of iron fist, that one episode had more action and stuff going on than the entire first season. A huge improvement

Watched the first episode of the new series of always sunny and have to agree with the inspector, they were trying to hard and I struggled to finish the episode as been said it's missing a big Dennis size hole, the sex doll was funny, let's hope it improves and the show doesn't end on a pale shadow of what it was.
