Heads up to ( I think ) Trebor new series of Kobra kai starts next month and its free to watch .

Cobra Kai season 2 ‘will be free’, as YouTube drops original series plans

Apple just detailed its original content streaming platform Apple TV Plus, but it appears one potential rival is bowing out.

YouTube is ditching plans for high-end original dramas and comedy shows, according to a Bloomberg report, and is not accepting anymore pitches.

However, there is good news for fans of the best original YouTube Premium exclusive show, Cobra Kai. The second series of the Karate Kid follow up will now be freely available on YouTube with all other content, the report claims

Thankfully, despite YouTube shifting away from Hollywood-style original programming, the change of tack doesn’t mean YouTube is giving up on Cobra Kai. Negotiations are underway for a third season according to the Bloomberg report, which could see Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso continue their reprisal on YouTube.

While the first couple of episodes of the popular show, starring many of the key players from the cast of the original movie, were available for free, the rest sat behind the paywall. That made it an awkward proposition for those who didn’t want to sign up for a premium YouTube Premium subscription.

The YouTube Red app is now being rebranded (yes, again), as only a paid music service, offering ad-free access to music videos, audio, cover tracks and more. There’ll be no more original shows behind the paywall, according to the report.

Anyway, all new episodes of Cobra Kai season 2 will be available on YouTube on April 24. If you haven’t watched series one yet, do yourself a favour. YouTube is still listing this a Premium-only series, but if Bloomberg’s report comes to fruition, it’s likely to be free before too much longer.

The Invisible Man (1959)

British tv production which ran for 26 weeks and it's remarkably good. Stories of espionage, bombs, assassinations and so forth set across the globe. At no stage during the run do we get to see the invisible man's features at all and he's credited as playing himself.

The effects are excellent and more or less every single episode is very good with stories that zip along at a gallop with car chases and fisticuffs galore.

Doctor Who fans might be interested that a ten year old Deborah Watling is in the majority of episodes as Peter Brady's niece and she's absolutely adorable with her terrificly humorous and questioning dialogue.

One to keep in the collection as it's a really well made series and comes highly recommended.

The Network dvd is a remastered edition and looks fantastic.

Stills taken from The Rocket in which a wagon carrying a missile is hijacked by villains and Brady has to stop them before they detonate it.

Rewatched The Black Adder for the first time in ages. Many many delights ... Frank Finlay as the Witchsmeller ... Peter Cook ... that face of his ... ... also perused the Xmas Carol one, as I had missed this at the time. Quite good, if a tad predictable haha.

Wolcott – a blind buy from the Network sale last year's 1981 four part TV crime drama about the titular detective (full name Winston Churchill Wolcott) who has to endure horrendous racial abuse, both on the streets and from his colleagues, as he investigates a murder and covers corruption on the force.

I really didn't know what to expect from this because I didn't read the synopsis; I found it to be a very good miniseries which I would like to have been longer or even with another series.

Recommended for those who like TV dramas – it's well worth picking up if it's reduced in another Network sale or available second hand somewhere.

South Park Season 21 – a show which has evolved over the decades it's been running from a crude comedy to more of a satirical documentary. The way Trey Parker and Matt Stone use analogy and metaphor to put a different spin on such issues and topics of unemployment and working class anger, the growing influence of smart technology, Netflix and the growth of the superhero film franchise, psychological abuse in relationships, increasing opioid abuse, and the Trump presidency is incredibly impressive and often very funny.
