1993 Biggest Hits & Saturday Night Television Disasters

I feel that Channel 5's biggest strength is their Countdown shows which are informative with some excellent talking heads and nostalgic memories.

These 2 shows were no exception and whilst I wasn't a big Music fan back in 93, I know most of the songs so I found the stories fascinating.

The TV Show disasters was another enjoyable watch, some of the reactions regarding 3-2-1 was priceless as was the reaction regarding The Price Is Right being too rowdy was great as well.

Finished season 4 of The X-Files started season 5 which has my favourite episode of the whole series.

Decided too watch this when it came up on news feed and strength of reviews , wasnt expecting much even with the good reviews , but too say I was pleasantly surprised was a understatement, watch the first episode and the next thing I know 6 hours later I had watched the whole show.

Beautifully shot and directed ,magical and wonderful show that will bring a tear too your eye, the acting is top notch especially from the young lead who gives a amazing performance better than actors whom have been at it for years.Well worth a watch, roll on season two. Also has a great use of sound and sound track.

Now watching my favourite X-Files episode . The Post-Modern Prometheus.

Penny has a second date with Stuart and they both ask Leonard for advice, Howard needs help with his zero gravity space toilet that may cause problems after 10 flushes.

The Monopolar Expedition
Sheldon is offered a 3 month position to work in the North Pole and needs a team can the guys survive 3 months there with Sheldon and Penny tries to cope with not seeing Leonard.

This season has it's moments of being funny and cringe worthy at the same time, some of the episodes were not as good as the first season even though things have changed with the characters and how they are. Often wondered how the stars managed to pull things off but there is quite a lot of bloopers that are even funnier.

The Electric Can Opener Fluctuation
The boys return from the North Pole, Sheldon has published his findings that were under false pretense, which forces him to return to Texas, Leonard and penny start dating.

Everything was fine, according to Leonard after his night with Penny, Sheldon and Howard have a wager on a type of cricket they have heard and decide to get leading bug specialist Professor Crawley to help them out.

This season got better and better with the laughs and jokes and Will Wheaton able to take Sheldon down twice as he is living rent free in his head. This one marks the first of many appearances for Zach as he tries to understand science and fails, Brian Thomas Smith plays a really good part as the dim witted Zach while Melissa rauch and Mayim Bialik become regulars on the show after this season.

1994 UK Biggest Hits

Another of Channel 5's Countdown shows, this time running down the Top 30 Singles in the UK 1994. Again very informative like All 4 One's absolute classic I Swear being Number 2 for 7 weeks (Unbelievable) as was Wet Wet Wet's Love Is All Around being Number 1 for 15 weeks (it's a good song but not a Number 1 for that long)

It was mid-way through 94 where I started getting into Music (Thanks to Let Loose Crazy For You) so it was memory lane for me.

I finished watching Game of Thrones for (at least) the third time and it's still exciting, funny, engaging, and surprising.

I then watched In My Skin, a brilliant coming-of-age story about Bethan, a 16-year-old girl in a Welsh comprehensive school, struggling with the demands of being a 'regular teenager' when her mum is in a psychiatric hospital and dad is an unreliable drug abuser. I hope there's another series.

After that, I looked at the other things on my iPlayer list and watched Industry, which is about new recruits to a team of city traders, and what they do when burning the candle at both ends and trying to succeed in a high-stakes business and surrounded by people who are equally as ambitious.

I then watched Time, an exceptional three-part miniseries in which Sean Bean plays an English teacher sentenced to spend four years in prison for killing someone when drunk driving. It's brilliantly written by Jimmy McGovern, superbly edited by the entire cast, particularly Sean Bean and Stephen Graham, and a tough and thought-provoking look at the many shortcomings of our criminal justice system. Highly recommended.

This is the series where Melissa Rauch changed her voice to more squeaky and can become Mrs Wolowitz when she is angry, there is some more of Mrs and Mrs Koothrappoli that can add a bit more laughter, Alice Ampter and Brian George play Raj and Priya's strict parents well, that does remind me of the film East is East with Mr Khan is some bits keeping up their religion.
