I suppose in the absence the the English friendly limited edition German DVD the next best one to get would be the US anamorphic reissue. The original non-anamorphic US DVD was badly cropped though, so that is one to avoid. I believe that the Australian DVD is a port of the US reissue.
The US DVD reissue is a yucky standards conversion.

Wonder if Arrow could do this one - could it get by the BBFC ok these days?

True, but in the absence of any other widely available version it is still possibly the best option.

I'm sure that a Bava film from the '60s would sail through the BBFC.

I think you can get it in a double pack with Return to Cabin by the Lake (which is OOP) on Amazon marketplace. Will be pricey though... in fact I think the double pack goes for cheaper than the single release of the 1st film.

Yep the double usually is less.the single edition which usually turns up on amazon from 80 to 145 quid which is ridicolous
