One of Christian Bale's finest perfs-and that's saying something!
I think both Christian Bale and American Psycho are VERY over-rated. Only good film Bale was in was The Machinist.
Daemonia likes this.

Another I've thought of is Marina de Van, the director of self-harm shocker Dans ma peau (In My Skin). A very good film, if a little uncomfortable to watch at times.

I liked the fact that there is no real explanation as to the whys and wherefores of the self harm in the film. I did start to watch it with the director's commentary but she was blowing "art" so hard out of her arse I gave up!

Hmmm I think they did a good job with American Psycho and I'm a prime candidate to be disappointed as it's one of my favourite fiction books. Incidentally, I heard he ate a tin of tuna and an apple a day to get down to the weight required for The Machinist.

Ah we'll just need to agree to disagree then.

I didn't know Antonia Bird had died B.E......Her other flick FACE was great as well.
Tragic eh?

Kei Fujiwara - she directed the wonderful, disturbing (and hard going) 'Organ' and 'Id'. She had a hand in 'Tetsuo' too, as an actress. Wish she did more.
